Curtis Allen, M.D.
Physician | Chief Medical Officer

SouthRiver welcomed Dr. Allen to lead and direct the health center’s primary care team as Chief Medical Officer in Fall, 2016. With a robust background in engineering and quality management, he brings a fresh, analytical perspective to the team. Dr. Allen graduated with honors from Ross University and subsequently completed his post-graduate residency at Temple University Hospital as a Chief Resident. He was a United States Air Force Captain and ranking officer in charge of oversight for civil and commissioned medical care from 1998-2001. Dr. Allen has held numerous medical leadership positions including, Medical Operations Director of Dignity Health in California where he was responsible for the oversight of five rural health clinics and three specialty clinics, and Medical Executive and Chief Physician and Surgeon for the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, in addition to several other director and consultative roles. For leisure, he enjoys theatre and spending time outdoors with his horses.


Glen Monteiro, M.D., MPH
Physician | Assistant Medical Director

Dr Monteiro is a graduate of Government Medical College in Miraj, India. He completed his Family Medicine at the Virginia Commonwealth University and his second residency in General Preventive Medicine and Public Health at Rutgers University. He also obtained his Masters in Public Health at Rutgers University. Dr. Monteiro has been practicing medicine since 2013, spending the last three years with Bon Secours Health System in Richmond, Virginia. His practice specializes in chronic disease management, preventive medicine, opioids misuse disorder and occupational medicine. His interests include Community Based Health Care and Public Health. Dr. Monteiro has multiple presentations and publications. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his boys, traveling, hiking and playing tennis.


Skyler Meyer, FNP
Family Nurse Practitioner

Skyler Meyer graduated from Douglas High School in Winston  and then attended Umpqua Community College, receiving his Associates of Applied Science degree in nursing in 1999. Skyler worked as a nurse in Mercy Medical Center’s Emergency Department until 2012 when he received his  Nurse Practitioner license. Skyler completed six years of additional education at the University of Phoenix and his graduate studies at Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA in 2012. Since that time, Skyler has worked as a Nurse Practitioner in Mercy Medical Center’s Emergency Department. He now provides primary care services at SouthRiver Community Health Center in Winston full time.


Jonathan Russell, PA-C
Physician Assistant

Jonathan Russell received his Masters of Science in Health Sciences / Physician Assistant Studies from Drexel University. Since graduation, Jonathan has had experience in family practice and urgent care in both Oregon and Arizona. Jonathan has also completed a Master’s Degree in Bilingual Multicultural Education from Northern Arizona University and is conversant in Spanish and French.


Marcy Dean, FNP
Family Nurse Practitioner

Marcy earned her Masters in Nursing/Nurse Practitioner degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2016. Prior to becoming a Nurse Practitioner she was a staff RN for 7 years and an Assistant Nurse Manager for 9 years, working in a critical care step-down unit in Oceanside, California. Marcy recently relocated from San Diego to Winston in order to join the primary care team at SouthRiver Community Health Center. Welcome, Marcy!
